In the late 1800’s, the Ohio Valley was well known for Blackberry Brandy. We return to that tradition by bringing you this Eau-De-Vie. Her aroma and flavor will bring you back to summer any time you open the bottle! Distilled similar to a gin, we start by macerating Marion blackberries in neutral spirit and then distill in our copper pot to extract only the essential character of the fruit. Enjoy in any cocktail where rum or vodka is commonly used.
History: Blackberry brandy was very popular in the late 1800’s and was distilled and enjoyed most widely in the wider Ohio Valley with Cincinnati, OH being the biggest producer of this spirit. It was served often at apothecaries in a High Ball with Cola known as a Blackbird.
8-ounce highball glass
2 ounces Blackberry Eau-De-Vie
6 ounces Cola
Each of our distillates has a story, a color, and a tone. As such we have created a Spotify playlist for each project. The songs themselves may have little to nothing to do with the history of the drink or might not reference the drink at all but played a huge part in the creation of each spirit.
